Back at the beginning of August, I resolved to try out Inbox Zero, in which one aims to have zero emails in the inbox. The idea is to keep on top of stuff. Respond to what needs a response, read what needs reading, ditch what you don’t need.
Slightly over six months on, I am pleased to find I am still at inbox zero-ish. On a day to day basis there are usually a few emails in my inbox, mostly things that have not been moved yet as a reminder to myself not to let them slide. My Gmail account tends to get a little messier (on occasion inbox zero is more like inbox 25) mostly because it’s more tedious to sort emails on my phone, which is how I usually interact with that account. So I need to figure out something to do about that so I don’t keep stacking up emails I don’t need.
But otherwise, I am pleased. I no longer wind up with things buried in the chaos, and I feel like I’m dealing with most things in a timely fashion. What’s more, the habit seems to have solidified.
