I came home today to find my mother got bored staying inside all day… my niece was thrilled to discover Oma had pu together her Lego set.
P365 reanimated… (Z365 Day1)
I’d given up on P365 for a while, but today I ran into a colleague who mentioned she was doing it this year. (She started on the first of January.) So I thought why not try again? I liked P365. It was a reminder to find some beauty or significance in every day, even the ordinary ones. So here we go again. Welcome to Z365- P365 reanimated, and possibly in search of brains…
File under ‘could not do that again if I tried’
You know how they* always say that you shouldn’t eat at your desk/in front of the computer? I had an abject demonstration in WHY. I had a salad in a takeout container. Walk in to my desk, start to set the container down, and somehow the lid caught on the keyboard. My entire Ceasar salad did a very neat backflip onto the right half of the keyboard. It was masterful how self-contained it was- there were only a couple leaves on the desk.
So now I have to clean my keyboard.
(Sadly, I did not take pictures. My mental process ran something like ‘oh, CRAP-fix this now!’ It only occurred to me later that I should have snapped a photo, because it was seriously unbelievable how neatly the salad stuck the landing.)
*Where by ‘they’, I mean sensible people and the IT department. They have a point. In my own defense, this is the first time I’ve ever had such a spectacular keyboard mishap.
Grillin like a villain
Sweet potato fries and chicken. Not sure there will be much left of the fries by the time everything’s done- I keep eating them off the grill.

The Morning After
Another World Cup has come and gone. *sigh*
On the bright side, it was a corker of a tournament, and my beloved Germany won.
On the also rather bright side, I woke up this morning astonishingly early (given how late I was awake and about last night) with a ridiculous energy level. I’m having a very productive morning. Paradoxically, productive mornings only ever add to my to-do list, as I have a million and one ideas on days like this.
On the less bright side… there is no football. Aside from pre-season training matches. When does the Bundesliga start again? August 23? Serie A? August 31? You want me to wait until the end of August*?? But that’s forever! /inner 5 year old
*Yes, I know there will be football before then. Napoli will be playing a friendly against Barca in early August, and Eintracht play Sampdoria. The Coppa Italia and DFB Pokal both start in mid-August. And yes, if I’m truly bored on the football front, I could try harder to take MLS seriously.
